This is one of my favorite go-to dinners. Chili-Powder Shrimp, rice and whatever vegetable is on hand. Tonight the veg was broccoli. I discovered the versitility of chili powder in the winter when I was frequently making , yes, chili!
Here's what I did tonight, between one kid's dental problems, and another's lacrosse game: Purchased frozen shrimp from supermarket, opened package into big red bowl, filled bowl with water to defrost, when it looks like whole red bowl is a big block of shrimpy-ice, then drain and fill with fresh water. Replace water two or three times and it will be defrosted.
Heat oil in skillet, add garlic, either fresh or jarred garlic, I went for the jar tonight...game time 6:00pm. Add chili powder and heat until fragrant, add shrimp, heat until they pink up.
Will our lives change tomorrow? We are on a television schedule: Channel 76, Fridays and Saturdays at 9, noon, 3 and 8pm, take a look. We are very excited, we have seen it several times, but there are some moments that crack me up each time.
